Ice Hotel...Canada and Switzerland






The Ice Hotel Quebec-Canada, located just outside Quebec City, will be open from January 5th to April 1st, 2007. The architecture of the Ice Hotel is unique every year.





Imagine sleeping snuggly in this luxurious structure crafted each winter from the purest of nature's materials: ice and snow. You`ll be surrounded by beautiful ice sculptures and paintings. You can dance the night away in our N'Ice Club or lounge about in our Ice Lounge. Then relax underneath the stars in our outdoor hot tubs. And for fianceés, our Ice Chapel provides an enchanting and fairytale-like setting for weddings

What is the temperature inside the Ice Hotel?
The Ice Hotel’s four foot thick walls act as an excellent insulator and helps maintain a constant temperature, acting similarly to a “Thermos”. The temperatures inside the Ice Hotel remain between 28° to 23° Fahrenheit (-2° to –5° Celsius). For example, on a very cold day, the exterior temperature of the Ice Hotel may be -18° F or –28° C, however, the interior temperature of the Ice Hotel would not descend below 25° F or –4° C.
When is the Ice Hotel open ?
The Ice Hotel Quebec-Canada opens its doors yearly at the beginning of January and closes them at the beginning of April, when the spring sunshine makes its appearance.
How big is the Ice Hotel?
The Ice Hotel covers an area of 3,000 m2 (30,000 ft2) composing of 500 tons of ice and 15,000 tons of snow.
What about bathrooms?
Not to worry, we have even thought of those little nightly visits to the bathroom. You will be able to enjoy easy and quick access to our heated facilities directly from inside the Ice Hotel.
Can children come to the Ice Hotel?
Kids of all ages are welcome at the Ice Hotel for visits and overnight stays. Bring your whole family! Your children will be in awe, and so will your own inner child.
