Red Mountain Spa:Utah

The new Sagestone Spa is the latest innovation from the ownership and staff dedicated to repeat clients and new fans year after year. Services include 'Journey Inspired' body treatments, many different aromatherapies, and the Slick Rock Survival just for the legs and feet. There are also a wide variety of packages to maximize value and your well-deserved rest and relaxation. The Sagestone spa does become quite full after the morning hikes. To enjoy a day of the spa to yourself, skip a hike and book an after breakfast treat! You'll be one of a few people at the spa at this time.

During your stay, you will have three healthy gourmet meals per day. They are not advocates of starvation diets, so the dietary program is based on a healthy balance between carbohydrates, protein and fat. You will have ample, healthful food choices. This philosophy is especially evident in the wonderful spa cuisine artfully prepared by Chef Chad Luethje and his staff. Red Mountain guests are treated to the chef’s intensely flavored, natural, nutritious and healthy meals prepared with a variety of seasonal, fresh foods. In fact, many of the herbs used in the food preparation come from Red Mountain gardens. To keep you on track after you leave, they offer numerous nutrition classes and daily cooking classes where you will learn the skills to continue your success upon your return home for a lifetime of healthy eating. There is also a distinguished selection of fine wines and beers on the dinner menu! This departure from tradition reflects research that suggests alcoholic beverages, enjoyed in modest amounts, are supportive of heart health.
And don't get too finicky as to the season when you plan your trip. The resort is nestled at the foot of the red sandstone towers near the entrance to Snow Canyon State Park (named for its early settlers, not for the 'white stuff'). Summer months are warm, with average highs in the 90's, but the humidity is low, and the dry heat means little fatigue from the humidity. Winter months are mild, with sunny days and cool nights; even during the coldest months, the daytime temperature is usually in the 50's or 60's.

There are many fitness activities offered at Red Mountain. There are classes that range in skill level from beginner to the peak performer, and the facilities are also open to guests for individual use when classes are not in progress. Classes include yoga, hip hop, chi ball, pilates, salsa, Reebok Core Board®, and New York City Ballet Workout®. You can also arrange for personal training.

But for most, the true life change comes as guests put on their hiking shoes and venture up the trails through the Red Rock mountains and canyons. Among the vertical towers of rust-red sandstone, the pink weathered mounds of slick rock, and the scattered boulders of ancient black lava, guests discover that their health and well-being are not attached to the numbers they read on their scales every morning but to their ability to walk from one point to another, their desire to climb to the top of a ridge, their joy in running a distance they've never reached before.

A real reason to come to Red Mountain is to take advantage of the amazing location. Hiking is so fundamental to your wellness program that Red Mountain has often been called “the outdoor recreation resort.” Each day you'll explore different geological wonders on more than 30 different trails led by a professional staff of over 40 guides. There are also day trips to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the North rim of the Grand Canyon as well as numerous backcountry areas. And don't miss horseback riding, rock climbing, or kayak classes.
